New Year, Same Mission

January is often filled with people making changes.

They change how they exercise, their diet and their spending habits. However, in our January blog we don’t want to focus on what we are changing. Instead, lets focus on what we are keeping the same, our mission.

Team UnLimbited is dedicated to empowering and inspiring people with limb difference through the design and build of our 3D printed assisted devices. By giving a helping hand we improve the confidence and lives of children and adults the world over.

It is quite amazing when we look back to our very beginning and see how far we have come. It all began in December 2014 when Steve and Drew manufactured a 3D printed left-hand. Who knew that the creation of that hand would become the start of something special?

In 2015 Drew delivered a 3D printed hand device to Eden and she became the first of many children to receive help from Team UnLimbited. A few months later, Steve created a 3D printed arm for 7-year-old Isabella. When her arm made global headlines and received millions of views on YouTube it became clear that this was the start of something extraordinary.

The following years included the making of lots of arms, winning Channel 4’s Shed of the Yeara letter from the Prime Ministera permanent exhibit in the Science MuseumSteve’s British Empire Medalan Alex Moulton Award and in case we didn’t mention it enough, the making of lots and lots of arms.

No matter how much time has passed, one thing has remained constant throughout our entire journey, our mission.

We want every person who has an upper limb difference to have access to a 3D printed assistive device. That is why we always make our arms free of charge. Our Team UnLimbited designs are available for anyone in the world to download and create themselves.

Our blueprints + a 3D printer + 24 hours = a 3D printed assisted device.

In 2021 we will continue to work at this goal and we are grateful to have you join us on that journey.
