Calling all football fans

Let’s chat about our favourite football arms and a special footballing hero in the limb difference community.

Recently we explored the incredible talent on display in wheelchair tennis and this sparked an idea here at Team UnLimbited.

With the Lionesses having won the Euros, what better way to mark the team’s success by taking another look at the world’s beautiful game, football.

We’re no strangers to football. Back in 2021, we shared some of our favourite football themed arms which included Charlie’s Juventus arm, Ted’s Manchester United arm and Ajay’s Aston Villa arm. Brilliant designs based on some of the world’s biggest clubs.

Elsewhere was Kobi’s Everton themed arm produced our friends at the LimBo Foundation. At the time this cool design set the Twittersphere alight with Everton striker Dominic Calvert-Lewin tweeting about the design and plenty of other famous footballers sharing their delight.

And it isn’t only football themed arms that receive an honorary mention. Last year, Team UnLimbited was spotted on the pitch thanks for Northallerton Town Juniors Football Club who adorned their black and white striped kit with our logo.

To this day, everyone here is grateful for the support and awareness this gesture raised.

The Inspirational Carson Pickett

Now, to an athlete of the highest level.

Carson Pickett inspired aspiring footballers with limb difference the world over when the defender became the first player with limb difference to play for USWNT – the United States Women’s National Soccer Team.

Making the occasion even sweeter was the USWNT’s 2-0 win against Colombia on Carson’s debut.

When Carson, who was born without a left arm and forearm, isn’t playing for her nation, she represents North Carolina Courage in the NWSL. Carson has played more than 100 times for her team and recently featured in the division’s Best XI.

Carson shows that with determination and plenty of hard work, you can become anything you want to be.

Mindset is everything and we’re proud the role our arms play in instilling confidence in people and empowering them to follow their dreams.
